HYANNIS SOUND!

Next Sunday, April 12th at 2pm in the Sanctuary

Last year, a Nor’easter squashed their penultimate attempt. So this year, they've moved the tour deeper into mud season, into April! For the first time since the pandemic, Hyannis Sound is finally returning for a revival of its Spring Tour.

- On Saturday, April 11 at 7pm, they will perform at Filene Recital Hall on Dartmouth College Campus in Hanover, New Hampshire. They will be joined by The Dartmouth Dodecaphonics and the Hanover High School DaChords.

- On Sunday, April 12 at 2pm, they will perform at the North Chapel in Woodstock, Vermont.

All general admission seats in both venues are sold only at the door for a suggested donation of $15.

The group will showcase songs from their storied 30+ years and featuring both current and past group members. With numerous alumni hailing from Vermont and New Hampshire, Hyannis Sound’s presence in the Upper Valley has been felt for nearly three decades. The singers are thrilled to once again perform and reconnect with the wonderful members of the Upper Valley Community.

The Hyannis Sound is a professional a cappella singing group composed of ten college-aged men from across the country who spend their summers singing on Cape Cod.

Founded in 1994 by Woodstock local Townsend Belisle, Hyannis Sound lives and works together on Cape Cod from Memorial Day and Labor day, staging nearly 100 performances over the course of the summer between public concerts and private functions across New England.

The group has amassed a significant social media following, having performed with and for popular acts like Ben Platt, James Taylor, John Legend and Alicia Keys. Former members of the group have been involved with productions such as Glee, The Sing-Off, The Voice, Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2, Naturally7, Straight No Chaser, The Swingles and Pentatonix.

Music plays an important role in the North Chapel.  Our talented choir is led by Michael Zsoldos.

In addition, Sunday morning service sometimes finds one or more local or professional musicians performing with, or substituting for, the choir.

The North Chapel sanctuary is an inviting musical venue with wonderful acoustics.  Many classical music performances occur here throughout the year.

Music in our Sanctuary

We have the North Chapel Classical Music Series on Sunday afternoons in the Spring and the Fall.

Local art organizations Pentangle, Barnarts and Artistree also hold concerts in our sanctuary.

And, we have the annual Thayer Organ Recital each summer. Look for the announcaments!

Thayer Organ

Since 1956 our organ has been nationally known by organ enthusiasts as unique for its bright sound and musical flexibility.

It is very unusual that an organ built in 1875 should be so strident.

How does one explain this organ and why is it in Woodstock?
