Music! Dinner! Performance!
Saturday June 25, 5PM – 8PM, under a Tent
The North Chapel’s Annual Celebration of the Life and Hope Association in Siem Reap, Cambodia
Our support since 2007 enables five children to grow, learn, and become productive young adults in a challenging world. We support one of the most dynamic youth development programs in one of the poorest countries in the world.
You are invited to a late afternoon – early evening fund-raiser, this year for the first time held in the summer and outdoors at the North Chapel. Kids welcomed!
Savor superb summer fare prepared by North Chapel’s top chef, Ken Woodhead, with Cambodian appetizers contributed by Angkor Wat Restaurant.
After dinner, North Chapel’s premier actor,Mike Backman, will share monologues from his stage experience, including Death of a Salesman, Long Day’s Journey into Night, and perhaps Hamlet. Mike will talk about how he prepares for a role. He will guide those who want to participate to find a real connection with those feelings from deep inside of you that you can then use to build a character of your own. Of course, those who simply want to observe are more than welcome as well!
Here are the details: The event starts at 5 PM outdoors (weather permitting). Wine for adults, games for kids – including a traditional Cambodian pastime! Dinner will begin about 6 PM under a large tent. At the conclusion of dinner, a brief report on our Cambodian kids, followed by Mike Backman.
Wine, dinner and show: $35 adults; kids, free.
Families are welcome – childcare provided during the show!
