What To Do With Your Stuff

What To Do With Your Stuff
Tuesday June 27th 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Norman Williams Public Library, 10 the Green, Woodstock, VT

Are you confused or cranky about what goes where, and how? Ham Gillett, Program/Outreach Coordinator for the Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste Management District, to the rescue! Ham will bring us up to date on the latest recycling and composting requirements for Vermont’s Universal Recycling Law – Act 148 – how it presently effects residents and businesses, what the current requirements are, and how to recycle things like electronics, paint, batteries, fluorescent bulbs – all items that people are confused about or unaware of.  Ham will also provide information on where to safely dispose of items that can’t go in your trash. No question will go unanswered! This event is co-sponsored by Norman Williams Public Library, Sustainable Woodstock and GUVSWD (see their website – link below).

Bookstock Literary Festival

Preparations are Underway!

The eighth annual Bookstock Literary Festival will take place on Friday through Sunday, July 28—30, in Woodstock. Among the many events over that weekend will be an expanded THREE- day book sale held on the Village Green. We’ll have more details about all the Bookstock events in our Summer Quest or visit

Bookstock Used Book Sale and the North Chapel

For the past 8 years our church has worked with the Norman Williams Library to put on a used book sale as part of the Bookstock event on the last weekend in July.

This year we begin collecting donated books on June 12th and sorting on July 17th. Please put your donated books in the SE Children’s Room (downstairs next to The Chapel) and sign up to help sort and sell books on the sign-up sheets in the Social Hall.

This is a major fund raising event for the church and a great way to support the Library and the Woodstock Community. If you have any questions contact Deb Rice at or call 234-5349 or Lynn Peterson via phone at 672 3697 or via email at

NC SE Spiritual Fitness BOOK Group

The Spiritual Exploration for Children and Families Committee is starting a regular book group where we as parents/guardians get together to read and discuss books that deal with spirituality in its many forms. We can also use this time to discuss our own spiritual path with like minded people. Children are welcome. Bring a snack, and lets enjoy some time together!

Our second meeting will be on Thursday July 27th at 5:30pm until 7pm. We will get together to discuss the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. We will meet at the North Chapel.

While for the start of this group, we will not have official childcare, feel free to bring your kiddo/s and we can set them up in the art room or playroom while we chat.

Amazing Grays

The Amazing Grays will gather next on Sunday, July 9th, 11:30-1:00 in the North Chapel parlors.

The Amazing Grays gather once a month to share our thoughts and feelings about getting older and support one another in our process. We strive to create an environment of safety and trust, to provide a time of quiet as well as a time of sharing, to speak from our own experience, to listen to others with our hearts without judgment, discussion, dialog, question asking, problem-solving or “fixing,” and to treat everything shared as completely confidential.

EVENSONG  Welcome everyone every Friday from 5:30 – 6:30 in The Chapel (Downstairs).  We will meet in silence, sit in meditation for 30-40 minutes, sometimes share an inspiring reading and/or soft, soothing music.  The candlelit space creates a warm and comforting atmosphere for stillness and reflection.  This is a gentle interlude between the end of a busy week and the beginning of a relaxing weekend; a quiet time to just be and to calm one’s spirit.  Our collective mindfulness brings a sense of restoration and renewal to each other and to the space. All are welcome.
